Life suddenly has become a bit stressful, busy and stressfully busy – so no painting this week, as you may have already guessed.  I am really hoping to get one up this coming Monday. So know that I am not going away! The Lorflor Project continues!

Okay people – here’s what’s been going on.  I got an Epson scanner and printer so I can create my own prints.  Those of you who know me and know about the scanning/printing/photoshop world, know what a pickle I just got myself into seeing that I know hardly a thing about technology and PS – it’s not as easy as it seems, but  I was extremely unsatisfied with what local printers were giving me.  I have spent the last several months researching everything from printers and scanners to paper types for the prints and blah blah blah. I have been learning a bunch of new stuff to make this all work like I want it to.  In the past I have been photographing the paintings, but sometimes I couldn’t get the colors just right – last weeks was the most off-color digital file yet, which bothered me.  SO – now that I have the scanner set up and with the help of Photoshop I am able to get a file that closely resembles the original.

I still have a ways to go and too much to learn.  You will get your prints – promise!  I just need to figure the paper type next and about the printer settings.

I have posted a new painting for this week, along with last weeks – so leave a title for the new one this week (shown above) and feel free to leave a new title for last weeks (shown below), or you can just keep the original one you left if you still like it.  Phew.  Cheers!

P.S. – All of the other paintings have been really close to the original – so no worries there.  It was just this last one that was ridiculously off and I didn’t have time to address the issue til now.  Thanks for your patience!

Note to all who submitted entries:  I will try to get my colors to match more closely!  This particular painting isn’t really red – but more in the orangish-pink category…so it has a softer feeling to it.  Loved so many of the “red” entries though.  Sorry it came across your screen more red than not!

I have been trying to get a painting posted, but Lorflor is ill with vertigo and so it will have to be a bye week.  So sad!  First week I have missed since it all began.

Still counting votes for the last painting.  That should be decided shorty.

Hey y’all!  So I picked up the prints from the printer today, and while they don’t look bad, I am going to try out one more printer to see if I can get a little higher quality.  I am new to this process, so I am still figuring out how to go about the whole thing.

I also have been talking to gallery owners, showing them my work and asking if they would like to host the art show next July.  I have been getting positive feedback and even have a gallery that is interested!  They love the community involvement and other people submitting titles…and that it’s spread all over the nation, even to England.  But let’s impress them even more!  What I need is a little more help from you – spread the word, put it on your blog…let’s get more people participating!  Even if your title isn’t selected for a particular piece, your name and all the titles you submitted will still be in the art show.
